Introduction: 

The course will allow you to explore the past, present, and future of the fields of instructional design, instructional technology, and distance education.  This course is a wonderful concept of learning and doing.

Description:

  • Exploration of the impact texting has on literacy

  • Identification and exploration of the issues and challenges in teaching and learning with technology

  • Identification and exploration of ways to promote and encourage innovation in education

  • Exploration into the notion that a teacher must be present for learning to occur

  • Examination of media vs method

  • Introduction to simulations/games.

  • Examination of simulations and games

  • Examination of the future directions in Instructional Technology and Distance Education

  • Examination of an emerging trend or issue in the field of Instructional Design and Technology

  • Investigation into CSCLs [computer-supported collaborative learning] 

  • Creation of a brief learning unit using ‘NEW MEDIA’, that can be used in your environment 

  • creation of a website using a host e.g. Weebly

  • Designing of a project prospectus; ‘
