EDID6502: Analyzing Human Performance

This was the fifth of eleven(11) core courses I undertook in the MSc in Instructional Design and Technology.  During this course, we were asked to select one business for which we could create a Performance Analysis Report.  We first had to write up a background report on the business identifying why it would be in need of a performance analysis report then create the Performance Analysis Report.  To facilitate this report we examined the fundamentals of performance technology (HPT) and human performance improvement (HPI).  We also examined three types of analysis; Performance analysis, Gap and Cause Analysis, Training Analysis used when analyzing human performance. We were also giving an opportunity to create a performance analysis report based on a case study ‘the Island Bank Case Study’.  We were given a template to use with the case which really helped when we had to do our own.

The main thing I learnt from this course is that Analysing Human Performance is the first step toward making a poor performance better and a good performance best. This course being the second of the first two courses, I was just as overwhelmed here as I was in the other course. I was not at all comfortable with having to critique other persons.  At the end of these two courses I was just praying that I would be able to obtain an A average.

One artefact that displays as evidence of my experience is:
